Thanks to the very snowy winter, we took a long time to complete the challenge. We started in ice and ended in flowers! But at least the kids were out sledding when they were not practicing the long jump. (photos here)

We had a great season! The kids braved all kinds of icy winds and slushy rain to practice with me. This group of hearty children really took the fitness challenge to heart! (see photos on facebook)

Safe Haven Day Shelter
Safe Haven is founded by First Christian Church of Falls Church, VA. They provide all kinds of aid, including freshly cooked meals, for those in need.

We had a blast at Safe Haven's Cajun Feast today! It was really fun to cook up a big meal with this crew. I am still jiving off the energy!
So many amazing people involved with this group. Robert Paxton is a "good person" magnet! If you don't believe me, just meet Robert one time and see how quickly you volunteer to help him. This Thursday, 3/31/2011 Chef Bonita will join the dedicated crew at Safe Haven to serve a healthful Cajun Gumbo lunch. We promise to post photos! For any of you who are interested, Safe Haven is a day shelter in Falls Church wonderfully supported by the First Christian Church. Safe Haven provides healthful lunches for up to 150 people in need twice a week, along with a bunch of other services for those who need help. For those of you who wonder how you can help your community, Safe Haven has some great programs you can join!
